La passione per il cielo nacque con me il 15 giugno del 1972.Già a 6 anni, dopo essere rimasto affascinato dai raccconti di mio padre sul mistero dei buchi neri, amavo terrorizzare i miei coetanei sui terribili effetti che questi mostri del cosmo avrebbero avuto su di loro.

Nel 1987, venni in possesso casualmente di una copia della rivista "l'Astronomia" e di alcuni libri tra i quali il bellissimo"Le stelle variabili" di Leonida Rosino.

Da allora non ho più smesso di guardare il firmamento.

La mia esplorazione degli spazi celesti è stata aiutata per diversi anni dal binocolo (un vecchio 10x50 trafugato a mio zio), poi successivamente da un Newton da 114 mm della Konus che mi ha tenuto compagnia per più di 10 anni.

Col nuovo millennio arriva anche la realizzazione di un sogno: un Meade LX6 da 203mm con il quale, approfondisco la conoscenza visuale del cosmo ed inizio a fare le mie prime esperienze di fotografia chimica.

Negli ultimi anni, il mio set up si è notevolmente arricchito con l'arrivo di un'Atlas EQ-G, di un Meade ACF da 10" e da una EOS 300D poi sotituita con una EOS 350D modificata, con la quale ho ripreso tutte le mie immagini digitali.

Da un paio di anni sempre più attratto dalle immagini celesti. espressione di una particolarissimo incontro tra arte e scienza, ho intensificato l'attività fotografica (mantenendo però attiva quella visuale). ispirandomi  agli stili (comunque per me inarrivabili), di diversi autori, ma traendo spunto e riferimento soprattutto dai lavori di Chuck Vaughn e del nostro Giovanni Benintende entrambi accomunati (nonstante il primo lavori con una DSLR e il secondo con un CCD), dalla particolare naturalezza delle loro immagini nelle quali la tecnica, peraltro ai massimi livelli, viene messa al servizio di una resa non artefatta di un cielo che possa mostrare la sua "vera natura" nonchè conservare intatto il suo enorme fascino.   

La maggior parte delle mie riprese  è stata effettuata nell'immediata periferia della mia città natale Viterbo nel Lazio.

Questa location mi ha ultimamente spronato (eufemismo di obbligato), a specializzarmi in una tecnica abbastanza innovativa ovvero la ripresa interferenziale narrowband utilizzando la mia DSLR come fosse un CCD (come se fosse possibile).

Oltre a trascorrere quando posso alcune ore in compagnia delle stelle mi piace strimpellare chitarra e pianoforte anche se preferisco ancora di più comporre brani musicali soprattutto per quanto riguarda la parte testuale.

Inoltre da quasi 10 anni, cerco di approfondire sia il pensiero appartenente a varie religioni, che soprattutto, percorsi spirituali affini al Buddhismo tibetano,  ritrovando in sinergia con il "fare cielo"  un richiamo costante ai perchè del nostro esistere...    (almeno ad uno di questi quesiti, ho trovato risposta nel giugno dello scorso anno -2008- quando ho sposato Silvia, con la quale ho l'enorme fortuna di condividere-in caso contrario già sarebbe scappata lontano- la mia insana ma stupenda passione).

In 1987, I was accidentally in possession of a copy of the magazine "Astronomy" and of several books including the wonderful "The stars variables Leonidas Rosino. Since then I have not stopped looking at the firmament. My exploration of space was heavenly help for years by binoculars (10x50 old one stolen in my uncle), then a Newton 114 mm Konus which kept me company for more than 10 years. With the new millennium comes the realization of a dream: a Meade LX6 by 203mm by which, on further visual understanding of the cosmos and start to make my first experience of chemical photography. In recent years, my set up has been greatly enriched by the arrival of un'Atlas EQ-G, a Meade ACF 10 "and a EOS 300D then replaced with a modified EOS 350D, which I have taken all my digital images. From a couple of years more and more attracted by the pictures heavenly expression of a peculiar encounter between art and science, I have intensified the photo (but maintaining the active view). inspired style (still unsurpassed for me), several authors, but drawing and reference mainly from the work of Chuck Vaughn and our Benintende John both joined (notwithstanding the first work with a DSLR and the second with a CCD), the particular naturalness of their images in which the technique, which is the highest level, is put at the service of a surrender of an artificial sky that can show its "true nature" as well as to preserve intact its enormous charm. Most of my shooting was done in the immediate periphery of my hometown Viterbo in Lazio. This location has recently spurred me (euphemism for forced), to specialize in a technique that is quite innovative recovery narrowband interference using my DSLR as a CCD (as if it were possible). Besides when I can spend several hours in the company of stars strimpellare I like guitar and piano, although I prefer to compose more music in particular as regards the text. Furthermore, almost 10 years, is trying to deepen the thinking belonging to different religions, which above all spiritual paths similar to Tibetan Buddhism, finding in synergy with the "make the sky" with a constant reminder of why we exist ... (at least one of these questions, I answered in June last year -2008 - when I married Silvia, with whom I have the great fortune to share-if not already ran away would-my crazy but wonderful passion) .
